Willkie House Building Renovation

Project Description

Our beloved Willkie House is a bustling programming hub that needs a major renovation to continue and expand the youth programming we offer. We have outgrown our current classroom spaces and are forced to put families on a waiting list every year because of insufficient classroom capacity. This renovation will repurpose spaces that no longer meet our needs so that we can expand classroom capacity while staying within our existing walls. While our 72-year-old building is structurally sound, it has not seen a major renovation in forty years. Repairs and upgrades are needed throughout the building to make it more functional, safe, secure, and accessible. This renovation will allow us to offer the best youth programs in Des Moines for decades to come! We also look forward to making our renovated space available to more community groups so that our facility can serve even more people.
